SAS provide Business Analytics software for 60000+ customer sites worldwide. Naturally, they have a pretty vibrant and active customer community forum.
Built on Ning 2.0 and with no current ability to migrate to Ning 3.0, there were two key objectives in the redesign of the current community: 1) to get the community site ‘on brand’ and themed in similar fashion to their corporate site, and b) to make the site responsive and look great on tablets and mobile devices.
The old site was cookie-cutter Ning 2.0 through and through but with a great design brief from the guys over at SAS I was able to build out a site that reflected their brand and virtually mirrored their main site. Here’s a screencap of the new homepage:
As mentioned, the other key objective was to get the site responsive to the device it was being viewed on. Here’s a screencap of a Ning 2.0 profile page with tabbed content, as viewed on mobile.
You can check the site out here.
“Thanks for all your help on this project. I think we have made a big improvement.”
